Home Sweet Home!
Wooo-eee! It’s been almost a month since I updated you with photos. As book tour travel became more frequent (just got back from Texas!), then a huge spike in traffic on my food blog for the holidays, and now the Christmas baking bonanza– I haven’t had time to do nearly anything besides work. But I’m home this week, settling back into my normal work life.
A Houston reader gave me this mug at my book signing on Saturday.
Since arriving home from Texas on Sunday night, I’ve been in the kitchen all day long. I whipped up biscotti, no-bake cookies, and slice ‘n bake cookies. I posted the biscotti on my food blog and will have the last two cookie recipes up on the blog soon, too. This has all been part of my food blog’s annual cookie palooza, a completely over-the-top smorgasbord of cookie recipes leading up to Christmas. I have way to much fun with this each year.
I decorated the house! Well, sort of. I can’t tell you how good it feels to finally put our wreath on the door, get out the scarves and mittens, light some festive candles, and work on the tree.
Look! My mom needlepointed this for Jude. Easily the best ornament on the tree. As you can see, it’s also one of the only ornaments on the tree. Still working on that!
That’s about it for now!
Q: Have you baked any holiday cookies yet? Or put up the tree?
Most shot with my Canon 5D Mark iii & Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 lens, some shot with my iPhone.
