Two Days in Portland
Oregon, you’re beautiful. I visited last week on my cross-country book tour. Last week was my first time visiting and I need to go back approximately 5,927 times. Most of the quick 48 hours spent there was exploring, with a trip to Wahkeena falls, Multnomah falls, and hiking the Oneonta gorge/trail on a supremely foggy morning with my husband.
A trip to Voodoo was necessary!!
I was told to visit Blue Star Donuts for an even better doughnut experience, but by the time we arrived to the downtown location– no more doughnuts left!
By the way. The reason I’d like to return to Oregon over 5000 times in my life is based on this bacon maple bar doughnut.
Kevin got the Old Dirty Bastard doughnut (ha!) which is chocolate frosting, crushed Oreos, and peanut butter drizzles. He said he felt cavities forming. And it was glorious.
Downtown Portland is quirky, energetic, and oh-my-god the colors. A dream come true to any traveler!
There is something exciting and beautiful around every corner.
Readers who stopped by my book signing told me I had to go to Salt & Straw when I was finished up for the day. Like, nearly every single reader. I don’t know if it was the sunny weather or the fact that this ice cream CHANGES LIVES (or so I’ve heard!), but the line was at least 50 people long. And I had to get back to the hotel.
Another reason I need to visit again!
Please go to Salt & Straw for me and tell me all the details.
Portland, I’ll be back. 😁😁
