Hamilton Beach 2.5-Liter Air Fryer...Featuring Spicy Maple-Glazed Air-Fried Turkey Breast #giveaway #airfryer #hamiltonbeach #turkey #sponsored

I have been curious about air fryers for months, so I was thrilled when my friends at Hamilton Beach sent me one of their 2.5-liter capacity Digital Air Fryer to use in my kitchen to create a fun healthy recipe to share with you! This air fryer uses hot air and little -- or even no -- oil to cook everything from fries to a bone-in turkey breast! Users have two cook options via the air fryer's digital touchpad: (1) manual mode to select a specific time and temperature, up to 400 degrees,  or (2) selecting one of six pre-programmed settings for French fries, chicken, seafood, steak, baked goods, and veggies. When your food is ready, the large-capacity nonstick cooking basket can be removed for easy cleaning.

Hamilton Beach's versatile air fryer delivers quick, even heating...so you can use it to cook meats, vegetables, baked treats, and more.  Simply place whatever you're cooking directly into the air fryer's basket, select your time and temperature -- or choose from a pre-programmed setting. The air fryer lets you know when your food is finished cooking via an audible beep. I especially love that the air fryer lets me enjoy delicious foods in a healthier way! Frozen foods require no oil for air frying, and other foods require only a light spritz of oil. A bonus? Because so little oil is used, the air fryer's removable nonstick cooking basket is super easy to wash in soapy water.

I used my Hamilton Beach air fryer to roast a small bone-in turkey breast in about 30 minutes! My Spicy Maple-Glazed Air-Fried Turkey Breast features crispy skin and moist, tender meat. It's flavored inside and out thanks to a generous amount of a simple homemade rub...and a sweet-spicy glaze. Turkey isn't just for Thanksgiving! This delicious recipe is perfect year-round...and roasting it in the air fryer means it's easy enough to make even on busy weeknights.

Spicy Maple-Glazed Air-Fried Turkey Breast
a Weekend Gourmet Original
Ingredients (for a 2-lb. bone-in turkey breast):
  • 2-lb. bone-in turkey breast, skin on
  • Olive oil spray
For the glaze:
  • 2 tbs. pure maple syrup
  • 1 tbs. Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp. olive oil
  • 1 tsp. garlic-flavored hot sauce [NOTE: I use Crystal]
For the rub:
  • 1 Tbs. Creole seasoning [NOTE: I use Chef Paul's Poultry Magic]
  • 1 tsp. marjoram
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. thyme
  • 1 tsp. sea salt
  • 1 tsp. white pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. dried lemon peel (or fresh lemon zest)
Directions:
Step 1: Make the glaze. Add the maple syrup, Dijon mustard, olive oil, and hot sauce to a measuring cup or small bowl. Whisk until completely combined, then store in the fridge until it's time to glaze the turkey breast.
Step 2: Make the rub. Add the Creole seasoning, marjoram, garlic powder, thyme, sea salt, pepper, and lemon peel to a small bowl. Completely combine. Place the turkey breast your work surface. Place half of the spice rub under the skin of the turkey, on the meat. Rub the other half of the spice mixture on the exterior of the turkey.
Step 3: Open the basket of the Hamilton Beach air fryer. Spray the interior with the non-stick olive oil spray. Then, place the seasoned turkey breast into the basket, skin side down. Using the fryer's manual mode, cook the turkey at 375° for 10 minutes.
Step 4: After the first 10 minutes of cooking, turn the turkey breast skin side up in the air fryer's basket. Cook an additional 10 minutes. Then, use a spoon to evenly drizzle the glaze over the top of the turkey. Raise the temperature to 400° and cook the turkey for 5 minutes.

Step 5: The final 5 minutes of cook time is to crisp up the skin and caramelize the maple glaze. Carefully remove the finished chicken breast from the air fryer basket using a long fork and a spatula. Set on a serving platter to cool for 10 minutes before carving.
When ready to serve, use a sharp serrated knife to thinly slice the turkey breast. As this video shows, the turkey cooks golden brown on the outside...with juicy meat inside. Serve with your choice of side dishes -- I made a tasty farro pilaf and corn, and it worked nicely with the turkey's sweet-spicy flavor.

This turkey was so delicious -- we don't typically serve turkey outside of the holiday season, but this recipe has me changing my tune! The Hamilton Beach air fryer cooked the turkey in about 30 minutes, and the results were better than any turkey I've roasted in the oven. The skin was crispy...and the meat was tender and juicy. The glaze gave the turkey a sweet-spicy tang...and the use of the spice rub on and under the skin ensured the meat was flavorful too! I'd call this a "winner...winner...TURKEY dinner!"
