Green Giant Prize Pack Giveaway from My Blog Spark...

Whew...what an eventful 24 hours we've had in San Antonio. The weather forecasters predicted a dusting of snow overnight, but we've heard that before and then had our hopes dashed in the end. But not this time...Mother Nature surprised us with some snow AND ice last night. This is a very rare occurrence in Texas, so to say we're not equipped to deal with it is an understatement. The roadways in the entire county were shut down from midnight until noon, so we received another very rare happening: a snow day from work!

Exactly how much snow does it take to shut down this city? Not much, especially when there's a layer of ice underneath. Here's what the parking lot of my apartment complex looked like when I woke up this morning...sort of like a coating of powdered sugar:

Before the weather turned nasty yesterday, I received a very cool Green Giant prize pack from the nice people at My Blog Spark. It contained a large insulated green tote bag, a box of Green Giant frozen broccoli with cheese sauce, a very nice serving bowl and matching silicone serving spoon, and a clip-on pedometer to measure my steps walked each day.

I'm a big fan of Green Giant frozen veggies, and their broccoli and cheese sauce happens to be one of my favorite varieties! Although it makes a tasty side on its own, I love to use it to top a baked potato topping for a quick and simple lunch or dinner. I simply microwave a baked potato and pour the cheesy broccoli on top. You can't ask for more than that: something that's yummy, quick to make, and full of healthy fiber to boot.
