The December Baking Challenge is epic. Huge. As big as a house. Literally.

MONTHLY BAKING CHALLENGE

On or around the 1st of every month, I post a new recipe complete with a how-to video, plenty of tips, tricks, and photos. I want you to bake the recipe yourself during that month, then come back and tell me how it went. Share your photos throughout the month using #sallysbakingchallenge on Instagram or email me, tweet me, or upload a photo of your recipe to my Facebook page. If you don’t like a particular flavor in that month’s recipe, there is an alternate challenge recipe. November Baking Challenge recipe: Savory Vegetable Cheese Tart

So in love with this savory tart! One of the only savory baking challenges we’ve done, this savory veggie and cheese tart hits the spot as the weather cools down or if you’re in the mood for something DIFFERENT! Paired with a homemade buttery pie crust and herbed ricotta parmesan filling, the variety of veggies was in your hands. I love it with thinly slices sweet potatoes and onions, but you adorned your savory tarts with vegetables galore! Some variations I loved seeing: sun-dried tomatoes and spinach, zucchini, roasted mushroom and caramelized onion, zucchini and bell peppers, and broccoli and cheddar cheese.

December 2018 Baking Challenge: Homemade Gingerbread House

Another highly requested baking challenge!!!! Get ready to bake, build, and decorate homemade gingerbread houses this month. (They’re not large at all, so they’re not intimidating to decorate!) Using a strong and sturdy gingerbread cookie dough, I’m showing you exactly how to tackle this FUN holiday project complete with a customized printable template so you have the correct gingerbread house shapes and measurements. I’m also sharing a million gingerbread house success tips and decorating ideas. Recipe and video tutorial coming tomorrow. Gather your kids, friends, girlfriends, siblings, grandkids, because this is the MOST FUN CHALLENGE YET.

Don’t celebrate Christmas? There will be an alternate challenge recipe, as always!

Everyone who participates in the December Baking Challenge and shares their photo on my Facebook page, in my Facebook group, emails it to me, or on your public Instagram account using the hashtag #sallysbakingchallenge is automatically entered. My assistants and I will keep track of your photos and randomly select a winner at the end of the month. This giveaway is open to the whole world. Giveaway ends on December 30th 2018. A winner will be selected at random and posted in the January Baking Challenge blog post on December 31st 2018
