P.F. Chang's Chinese New Year Menu #PFChangsWish

P.F. Chang's is kicking off their annual celebration of Chinese New Year on Monday, February 8th! It's the Year of the Monkey, and they're celebrating Chinese New Year with a special menu that features six flavorful new menu items. These big-flavor dishes symbolically represent the luck of the new year, including:

• Sichuan Chili Garlic Chicken
• Hong Kong Style Sea Bass
• Long Life Noodles & Prawns
• Butternut Squash Dumplings
• Mandarin Cake
• Monkey Mule (a signature cocktail)

I visited my local P.F. Chang’s here in San Antonio this week for a sneak preview of this special seasonal menu. I sampled the Monkey Mule, Hong Kong Style Sea Bass, Long Life Noodles & Prawns, and the Mandarin Cake. The Monkey Mule is refreshing and tart, with peach syrup, Monkey Shoulder Whisky, and a bit of fizz. It was a perfect way to kick off our meal -- along with some of P.F. Chang's delicious crispy egg rolls! The Hong Kong Sea Bass entree is light and delicious -- and it has under 600 calories! 

The mild sea bass is poached in a coriander-infused broth, along with mushrooms, green onion, cherry tomatoes, and asparagus. The poached sea bass is perfectly moist and served with steamed brown or white rice. The Long Life Noodles & Prawns is for those who like their Asian food on the spicy side! The sauce that coats the noodles and crispy prawns gets a definite kick from the addition of Korean pepper flakes. We ended our meal with a shared slice of citrus-infused Mandarin Cake!

This delicious cake features sponge cake that's filled with layers of tart citrus curd and whipped cream. Each slice is topped with fresh orange segments and served on a pool of milky sauce. The finishing touch is a garnish of fresh mint. The sauce gives this cake a definite tres leche feel.  

P.F. Chang's is also celebrating the Year of the Monkey by hanging traditional Chinese red envelopes filled with free offers on trees near all of its U.S. locations. Five very lucky winners across the U.S. will open an envelope that contains free P.F. Chang's for an entire year! During the entire month of February, P.F.
