March Baking Challenge

As we conclude the winter season in the next few weeks, I have FRESH flavors, flowers, and springtime colors on my mind. The change of seasons has been my inspiration in the kitchen lately and our March Baking Challenge reflects it all.

Before we get to our next challenge recipe, let’s recap what the baking challenge is.

WHAT’S THE MONTHLY BAKING CHALLENGE?

• On the 1st of every month, I post a new recipe complete with a quick how-to video, plenty of tips, tricks, and photos.


• I want you to bake the recipe yourself during that month! Come back and tell me how it went.


• If you’d like, share your photos throughout the month using #sallysbakingchallenge on Instagram or email me, tweet me, or upload a photo of your recipe to my Facebook page. I want you all involved!


• If you don’t like a particular flavor in that month’s recipe, there is an alternate Monthly Baking Challenge recipe.

A LOOK BACK ON FEBRUARY

February’s Baking Challenge recipe: Chocolate Cake Pops

A little intensive, but fun. Kids love them, they’re party ready, great for sharing, perfect for Valentine’s Day, 100% from scratch. I’m thrilled with the participation in February! Take a look at some of your photos on Instagram. And here’s a bunch that are either there, sent to me, posted on my Facebook page, or in my Facebook group.

MARCH BAKING CHALLENGE

While brainstorming the challenge recipe for March, I decided to throw it out there to the SBA community. I asked Facebook followers if they thought a naked style cake is challenging and interesting enough. Do you want to learn more about this style? Do you find it challenging? The response was overwhelming! And it made my decision simple: there’s a want and a need for rustic style naked cakes.

So let’s do it. Naked cakes in March!
