O Organics

Thank you to Safeway for sponsoring this post. All opinions are my own.

A few weeks ago I had the amazing opportunity to fly to Chicago and participate in the O Organics® ‘Organic for All™’ event. First of all, I love Chicago. I know a lot of my readers hail from Chicago and it is one of my favorite cities ever. The food is incredible, the art is breathtaking, and the people are fascinating and kind.

The event was held at Kendall College, a culinary school near downtown Chicago. It’s home to the Rick Bayless Kitchen. I adore Rick Bayless and his restaurant, Frontera, is on my bucket list (checked that one off!). We started off with a complete O Organics breakfast and followed it up with a kitchen demo from the fabulous Annessa Chumbley. She’s a nutrition expert and can I just say, she totally knows how to rock a ponytail. At one point someone leaned over to me and asked, “Am I the only one with ponytail envy right now?” She showed off her pancake and mini meatloaf skills, all made from O Organics products.

After that we were set free in the Rick Bayless Kitchen to create our own O Organics wonders. The place was absolutely filled with O Organics products. They have hundreds of different options and they are priced 10-20% less than other organic brands. I love a good deal! I get my O Organics products at Safeway and Albertsons, but if you are outside of the Salt Lake City area, O Organics products are available at Albertsons Companies stores across the country, including ACME Markets, Vons, Jewel-OscoShaw’s Tom ThumbRandallsPavilions and Star Market.

It was so fun to be let loose in a kitchen like that. It was like being on a reality cooking show! Unlike a TV show, before the cooking began everyone was whipping out their phones and cameras for pictures. Food bloggers simply can’t resist so many beautiful ingredients lying around! It’s like they are begging to be photographed. You’d think the products were walking the red carpet with how many cameras were going off.

When there are so many ingredients to choose from it can be hard to decide what to do. I didn’t want to make anything complicated, but instead really just let the simplicity of the O Organics products shine. And then a certain ingredient caught my eye… fresh tarragon.

Next thing I knew I had some penne, bell pepper, tomato, Italian blend shredded cheese, butter, spinach, and an onion at my station. The culinary instructor had said something about how every good recipe starts with an onion so the onion was a must.

It was so fun to be cooking with bloggers I know and love. Pictured above on my left is Tiffany from Creme de la Crumb and Chelsea from Chelsea’s Messy Apron on my right. Everyone made such different dishes and they were all so beautiful and delicious. We had everything from appetizers and breakfasts, to main dishes side dishes desserts and more! O Organics seriously had everything I needed to make a fantastic meal. I could have cooked a million different things with just what they had in the kitchen for us.

Afterwards we had an O Organics lunch (because food bloggers need that much food. Not even joking!) and then they let us loose to shop the products. I stuffed my shopping bag as full as it could go! I may look like I’m all smiles but I was sweating and shaking trying to hold up that bag. It was so heavy and full of as many amazing O Organics products as I could fit!

We finished our day with a little light yoga. I’ll spare you the details on that as I am one of the most inflexible people in the world. Yet I still like yoga. It’s so refreshing!

It was a whirlwind trip but I absolutely loved getting to spend time with all of these amazing bloggers and the people behind O Organics. It’s nice to see organic products becoming more widely available and affordable. I care a lot about what I feed my family and I always want to be sure they have the best!

At the recent O Organics ‘Organic for All’ event in Chicago, I had the opportunity to work with a vast selection of O Organics products, but please check your local Albertsons family store to see what’s available in your area.
