So. Here’s the thing. On Instagram, I get asked a lot, ‘Karina, can you make something with protein powder? Puh-leeeeze?’ And I always answer a flat no. Why? Because I’m terrified-ly scared of most protein powders.
So when Labrada reached out to me and asked me to try out their Jamie Eason Lean Body For Her Whey Isolate, I was kinda hesitant. Kinda, sorta, really bad hesitant.
Then I started reading up on it: no gluten, lactose, artificial flavours, artificial colours, preservatives or artificial sweeteners, plus more, and HELLO I was sitting at the front door waiting for it to come like it’s Christmas. With bells on my santa hat. Because I can.
(You guys can read more about it here)
And now, I can finally deliver a freaking awesome recipe for my fitness readers, and anyone looking for something a little (ok, a lot) healthier to snack on while not busting outta our pants trying to do the Macarena from excitement of Peanut Butter on a Brownie base!
I know, I know. I’m gonna lose 50 000 000 000 of you with the fact that there are beans in the brownie recipe, but ohhhhh lord the texture and fudginess and richness coming outta those beans into these brownies is another HELLO moment. If you guys haven’t tried my Blackbean Brownie recipes, you really really need to. Healthier and so rich, good luck getting the batter into the pan and into the oven. Because I have to fight everyone with their tongues off me with a wooden spoon, trying to lick the bowl.
Not cool before oven children. And husband.
I felt like I was cheating on my diet eating this. So much that I had to keep pinching myself that its 179 calories per.slice. Yep. I know. You’re welcome.
Did I feel any guilt whatsoever eating 1…2 — ok 4 pieces of pie? Helllll to the no. Blackbeans; honey, chocolate and a natural protein powder to kick the cravings, I’ma be making these again. Ohhhh yeeeeaaaah….
So simple like 1,2,3 and A,B,C all in the same breath. Throw; process; pour; bake; layer; done.
Do you see what I see? Do you see peanut butter and chocolate pie from heaven? Do you?
I’m so exciteddddd.
I personally want to thank Labrada for making mine, and many many many fitness peeeeplez dreams out there become a reality.
And God. For inventing peanuts and cocoa beans. Amen.
Just in time for Christmas… keep your pants on and zippers zipped up because this low calorie, protein packed dessert will have you screaming Hallelujah and Merry Christmas from your snow covered roof tops.
