Grilled Romaine Lettuce | Summertime Grilling





When I was inward college I worked at a Micro-Brewery (Flatbranch for my swain Mizzou folks...) as well as at that spot they served a grilled romaine salad.  As this was closed to thirteen years ago, I know that grilled salads are non novel to nearly of you... but I had never truly tried i until a few weeks ago.  We had dinner amongst my blood brother as well as his Claire at i of our local favorite spots - Chorizo & Mussels.)  Along amongst the mussels (again!), I ordered their grilled salad that I've been anxious to recreate.

My version starts amongst a basting liquid amongst rosemary, lemon as well as garlic that you lot brush over earlier as well as afterward grilling.  After the grill, I squeezed amongst fresh lemon as well as topped amongst parmesan cheese.  Sooooo good.  The slight grilled rosemary season is truly exceptional amongst the freshness of the lemon as well as lettuce.

Grilled Romaine Salad


1/2 loving cup of olive oil
1 lemon, juice & zest
1 tablespoon of rosemary, minced
1 teaspoon of garlic, minced
body of body of water salt
cracked pepper
....
ii small-ish heads of romaine (I used the pre-packaged hearts)
1 lemon, quartered
1/2 loving cup of parmesan cheese, fresh grated
cherry tomatoes

Start grill or ready coals.  While the grill is heating up...

Wash as well as dry out the romaine lettuce.  Cut inward one-half length-wise.  Mix together the oil, lemon zest as well as juice, rosemary, garlic, common salt as well as pepper.  Brush mixture on the cutting side of the lettuce. 



Grill lettuce, cutting side downwards for 2-4 minutes (depending on the temp of your grill) simply until grill marks appear.  Remove from grill as well as brush i time again amongst liquid.  Top amongst tomatoes, squelch of lemon as well as parmesan cheese.
