Homemade Hot Chocolate

Last calendar month when Mike too I went to Vail for our offset weekend away every bit parents, nosotros indulged inwards only near everything - massages, elaborate dinners, prissy bottles of wine, sleeping inwards too real exceptional (read : expensive) hot chocolate.

It was soooo exceptional too and thus indulgent.  What I actually loved near it, too the presentation, was that it was non too sweet, but real polish too rich too had a deep chocolate flavor.

This Hot Chocolate Recipe is my endeavour to recreate that rich, non too sweet, Haut Chocolate.  I was planning to portion it yesterday, but the lx marking atmospheric condition nosotros had hither didn't become inwards experience appropriate.  Now, that our temps are dorsum to a comfortable 34 degrees (humph...), it is Hot Chocolate fourth dimension again.

I notice that grating the chocolate amongst a microplane makes the chocolate easier to melt too every bit it melts to a greater extent than quickly, it makes the chocolate creamier.  

four cups whole milk
ii tablespoons sugar
.......
ii ounces bittersweet chocolate, grated
four ounces milk chocolate, grated
........
1 loving cup of heavy whipping cream
1 tablespoon of sugar

In a saucepan, rut the milk too carbohydrate on medium only until it begins to simmer.   Meanwhile, grate the chocolate.  Also, laid about whipping the cream too carbohydrate until soft peaks are achieved.  Remove from rut too stir inwards chocolate.  Continue stirring until the chocolate melts.  Serve inwards mugs topped amongst the sweetened whipping cream.
