Happy Halloween!! And welcome to day 2 in Pie Week. Today we’re chatting about November’s Baking Challenge– which is pie, of course! And I’m also giving you the chance to win some of my favorite pie baking tools at the bottom of this post.

Did you miss the first recipe in Pie Week? Hellooooo dark chocolate pecan pie.

Before we get to November’s baking challenge, let’s recap what the baking challenge is.

What is the Baking Challenge?

  • On the 1st of every month, I post a new recipe complete with a quick how-to video, plenty of tips, tricks, and photos.

  • I want you to bake the recipe yourself during that month! Come back and tell me how it went.

  • If you’d like, share your photos throughout the month using #sallysbakingchallenge on Instagram or email me, tweet me, or upload a photo of your recipe to my Facebook page. I want you all involved!

  • If you don’t like a particular flavor in that month’s recipe, there is an alternate Monthly Baking Challenge recipe.

Let’s Look Back on October

Recipe: Pumpkin Roll

You weren’t shy about trying this fall classic! I loved seeing all of your gorgeous pumpkin rolls this month. There were plain rolls, decorated rolls, multiple rolls, and rolls on rolls on rolls! Some with whipped cream filling, cream cheese filling, and brown butter cream cheese filling. (YUM!) I’m so happy to see that many of you baked October’s Challenge Recipe, despite being super nervous to try it. You’re incredible and YOU inspire me!

Take a look at some of your gorgeous photos on Instagram. And here’s a bunch that are either there, sent to me, posted on my Facebook page, or in my Facebook group.

November Baking Challenge

Since it’s Pie Week AND Thanksgiving is just a few weeks away, we’re obviously focusing on pie. But November’s Baking Challenge is not a particular pie recipe. Rather, we’re having fun with pie crust designs. The type of pie and the pie recipe is totally up to you, but the challenge is to have fun with pie crust. Does pie make you nervous? Good! It’s time to face your fear and create something beautiful. Because you CAN do it. Working with pie dough isn’t hard; it’s intimidating. But once you begin, you quickly get the hang of it.

Tomorrow, November 1st I’ll be sharing a few pies with unique pie crust designs to inspire you. As well as walk you through my favorite pie crust recipe with additional tips, tricks, and pictures. 🙂
