Snowy Adventure
Seems a little silly that I’m sharing winter wonderland photos in the middle of April! But, truth is, this was only a month ago. We were hit pretty badly with a snowstorm in Maryland and, luckily, it was the same week we had a mini vacation planned. Enter snowy paradise. We had a blast in Deep Creek Lake!
Deep Creek Lake is where Kevin proposed 4 years ago, so it’s a very special place for us.
We adventured there after I handed in my Sally’s Cookie Addiction manuscript. (Pre-order surprise and details coming soon!) I wrote most of the manuscript during my first trimester of pregnancy and was in MAJOR NEED of a getaway. Where I could rest, sleep, eat, rest, sleep, eat, then sleep some more. Surrounded by over a foot of fresh powder, we sunk into total vacation mode. A few hikes here and there, but mostly TV marathons, popcorn, and pup playtime.
We stayed in a serene lakefront rental home and since it’s the off-season, there was no one around to block any beautiful snowy views. The temps got so low by the end of the week that the lake began freezing over.
Though staying under the covers when it’s this chilly outside was tempting, our hikes around Swallow Falls were the best part of the week.
Can you spot a Franklin? ↓
Born in Colorado, Jude is a natural snow bunny. HE LOVES it.
Baby Franklin, on the other hand, is simply curious and confused.
And now I’m very ready for spring!
