Saturday Seven

m spending this weekend catching up on work and getting ready for my baking demo on Tuesda Saturday Seven

Happiest weekend to you!! What’s on your agenda this weekend? Mine looks a lot like this:

No plans here, man. I like it that way. I’m spending this weekend catching up on work and getting ready for my baking demo on Tuesday. I’ll be in Stamford, CT throwing a Cinco de Mayo book signing party with Juliska. And I’m going to show you how to make margarita cupcakes from scratch. Complete with tequila lime buttercream. Oh baby! If you’re in the area, the event is completely free. There will be free food, discounts on Juliska bakeware, and swag bags too. We have a good number attending, but there’s plenty of room for more. Please RSVP for the event to RSVP@juliska.com so we can make sure to have enough snacks and free swag. 🙂 I’ll take lots of pics!

7 things for you!

1) Let me tell you about those seriously catchy macarons up there. They’re from Dana’s Bakery, right over in NJ– the bakery who made the macarons for our wedding day. I’ve been obsessing over this bakery for the past 2 years and even though I’ve tried, I can never replicate how undeniably perfect their macs are. The flavors are completely out of this world and can you just listen to what they create? We’re talking YOLO macarons, glitter macarons (!!), mac daddy towers (omg.), macs with your name/wedding date/initials/etc, all gluten free, and don’t even get me started on the shimmery gold CHAMPAGNE macaron. They also have a macaron making kit (mixes + tools + filling recipe) for you to get started at home. Just had to share with you. 100% obsessed with all things Dana.

2) Made my soft & chewy oatmeal raisin cookies again this week. All this talk about raisins gave me a wild craving. I only made 1 dozen and froze the rest of the cookie dough in balls. (Here’s how I freeze it.)

3) Throwing my bud a bridal shower this summer! The other bridesmaids and I are currently brainstorming ideas. Wedding colors are navy and orange. We’re keeping all the details a surprise, so if you have any suggestions in the next month or so– feel free to email me! I already have dessert covered. Obviously.

4) I’m very much into journaling at the moment. I bought this one earlier this year at the suggestion of my friend when I starting sinking into my creative rut. You know I love organizing with lists and this is like lists for brainstorming your soul, values, and LIFE. Helps me pause my manic brain for a minute.

5) My new tumblr page just launched! I created a Tumblr account earlier this year, but quickly decided on a makeover. I feel like my Tumblr is now its own entity, separate from my blog. And you can quickly browse through my recipes with the smaller thumbnail photos and easily click around to find inspiration. And there’s a ton of sprinkles. Will be updating regularly!

6) Rugs. Our new house is all hardwood floor, so we need plenty of area rugs. And runners, too. Stalking RugsUSA for traditional styles. I don’t have any particular colors in mind, though I do love pops of burgundy and/or navy. I love this pattern in red. And this blue/brown one too!

7) Have you seen this mini funfetti cake?!!?? Permission to eat the entire thing.

Make it a memorable weekend!
