Prosciutto Wrapped Green Beans
Green beans don’t have to be complicated. A little butter, a little S&P and you have something quite tasty. If you want to take it up a notch for a special occasion there’s no easier way than wrapping some up with prosciutto. Prosciutto is a dry-cured ham popular in Italian cuisine. You kind find it pretty easily in most grocery stores. Sometimes I find it in the specialty cheese section, and other times in the deli area. It doesn’t need to be cooked so it works great for doing things like wrapping green beans.
Time to Make It: 30 minutes
Yield: 8 bundles
Ingredients
1 pound fresh green beans, ends trimmed
4 pieces prosciutto
3 TB butter, melted (preferably Plugra Salted Butter)
salt and pepper
Instructions
1. Place the green beans into a steamer and steam until soft-tender, about 15 to 20 minutes.
2. Place the green beans in a large mixing bowl or on a large baking sheet. Drizzle with melted butter and season with salt and pepper, to taste.
3. Slice the prosciutto in half, lengthwise. Divide the green beans into 8 bundles. Gently tie the bundles together with a prosciutto slice.
4. Serve while still warm.
